Tips and troubleshooting:
Before use:
Step 1:
It is a good idea to put the line in the water before you use it.
Step 2:
When you are to reel on a new line on your fly reel, first put the spool in water for some time, best about 20-30 min depending on water temperature.
Step 3:
After that, we recommend taking it outside pulling out the line from the spool in one straight length, then making a knot/loop in one end, and then holding the line in a door handle or similar.
Step 4:
Then put the line between two fingers and walk through the line all the way to take out any twist/loops, repeat this if necessary,.
Step 5:
Then take up the line and stretch the line as good as possible, check if there are any twist/loops again, sometimes you need to cut off some cm of the line before you make the knot/loop in the other end of the line
Step 6:
Make a loop for easy change of shootingheads
If you want to connect your line directly to your shooting head, you can skip the loop and tie it directly.
Troubleshooting:
Memory:
If you get a problem with the line with some memory, caused by ex. Get stock in stone, weed, or similar, then you can stretch the line by holding the line in a door handle or similar, then take out as much line as you need, and then walk backward and stretch the line, do this a couple of times, most memory problems can be solved this way. Maybe put the reel in water before you stretch the line.
Twist:
If the line gets twisted, try to stretch the line, try to do “Step 4+5”
Used:
You can take the line out, turn it around and use it from the other end or buy a new line.
Knot: Many use a Surgeon loop, but you can use other knots too
